WHY IS THERE A BLANK PAGE IN MY WORD DOCUMENT SOFTWARE
Submitted via EggHeadCafe - Software Developer Portal of Choiceĭr. The end of the document still is the 'blank' page. Edit: Forget what I said above, changing the paragraph symbols to 1pt. But, when I try to delete the page break after the last paragraph of the final written page, my header disappears. Where is the mysterious continuous section break coming from in the merged docs that isn't in the original template I merge from? How do I get rid of it? Now there are no paragraph symbols, just a blank page. If I run a normal merge into one long doc at work the extra blank page isn't there. I am using the same doc in the templates folder of both computers to allow a macro called mergesplitter to separate every doc in the merge into separate files but even computers at work without the template in the Word Template folder show the blank page at the end of each doc. Even if I just send the merged doc from home where it has no blank page at the end when I open it at work the blank page is THERE!īoth computers use Word 2007. Now the REALLY weird part is the extra blank page is NOT there when I run a merge from my laptop yet IS there when I run it from my desktop at work. I've tried a ctrl-H and searched for section breaks and none are found in the template yet ARE found in each doc. There is no page break at the end of the template. There are no section breaks in the template doc! I show all formatting symbols and it isn't there. In each doc is a continuous section break.
When I run a mail merge an extra blank page is added at the end of each document.
WHY IS THERE A BLANK PAGE IN MY WORD DOCUMENT MANUAL
Unfortunately, there is no way around this manual processing of the document, short of creating a macro to do the desired insertions.I have an odd problem. If you are working with longer documents then inserting the requisite section or page breaks can become quite tedious over time. Instead, insert a page break, press Enter once or twice, and then insert another page break.Įither of these methods is relatively easy to implement in short documents. If this is important to you, then you should not insert section breaks between pages.
I think I remember this being the actual file size and length when it was still working fine. The document is (according to Word itself) roughly 6 million characters, 1143 pages and the file is 7.4 Mb in size. No distorted text or anything, just blank characters. It also means that the blank pages inserted by Word will not have page numbers, headers, or footers on them. Now, when I open it in Word 2007, all pages are completely blank. Using this approach means that there will only need to be one break at the end of each page. (This way the paragraph will start at the top of the new page.) Make sure that the section break you enter is "Section Break (Odd Page)." That way the new section will start on the next odd-numbered page in the print-out. Then, insert a section break just before the paragraph in which the page ends. In your document, locate the end of the first page of the document. In this way you could leave the blank pages you need.įor instance, let's say that you wanted to leave even-numbered pages blank.
Instead, you will need to insert breaks to demarcate the ends of your pages.
Word provides no automatic way to do this there is no command to only print on odd or even pages. Why when I paste a document into word, sometimes blank space appears after a paragraph and I cannot delete the blank space in order to bring the text on the following page back It just wont let me delete the bland spake between the 2 paragraphs. For instance, you might want your training materials on the odd-numbered pages and all your even-numbered pages to be blank so that users can write on those pages, take notes, or do assignments. This will allow you to view multiple pages in the document, making it easy to find a blank page in the middle of a Word Document. Next, click on the Zoom Icon and adjust the Zoom to 20. Frustrated by trying to delete a blank page in Word that just won't go away This list of solutions (with accompanying how-to video) will do the trick. If you are preparing a training manual or some other type of workbook, you may want to leave every other page in the manual blank. Open Microsoft Word Document containing blank page/pages in the Middle of Document, click on the View tab located in the top menu bar and select Print Layout.
